01 YANGON
Arrive at Yangon Airport, after clearing custom and immigration
formalities welcome by our guide and transfer to the Hotel.
Overnight at Hotel in Yangon.
DAY 02 YANGON – BAGAN (BY FLIGHT)
After Breakfast, transfer to Yangon Airport for domestic flight to
BAGAN. Arrive and transfer to Hotel for check-in. After a stroll
through the colorful local market continue the day with visits to
the most significant pagodas and temples of Bagan including
SHWEZIGON Pagoda, built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th
century as a religious shrine; KU BYAUK GYI, a temple with superb
murals of Jataka scenes; KHAY MIN GA Temple, noted for its
panoramic view of the area’s numerous monuments and ANANDA Temple,
with four standing Buddha images.
Afternoon, visit one of Myanmar’s most treasured handicrafts, a
lacquerware craftsmen’s workshop in nearby MYINKABA village. You
will continue to MANUHA Temple, built in the Mon-style in 1059 and
follow on to NANBAYA Temple, a unique sandstone monument said to
have been the palace of King Manuha. Next you will explore the
MYINGABA GU BYAUKGYI Temple, a temple noteworthy for its mural
paintings under the protection of UNESCO. Proceed to BUPAYA Pagoda
or MINGALAZEDI Stupa to watch the sunset over the famous
Ayeyarwaddy River.

DAY 03 BAGAN – MANDALAY
(BY FLIGHT) - MINGUN
After breakfast, transfer to airport for domestic flight to
MANDALAY. Upon arrival at Mandalay Airport, proceed for a boat
trip on the Ayeyarwaddy River to MINGUN, about 11 km (1 hour)
upriver from Mandalay, with visits to the MINGUN Bell, weighing 90
tons and claimed as the largest uncracked bell in the world;
HSINBYUME Paya, and the unfinished MINGUN Paya, built as one of
the world’s largest chedi by King Bodaw Paya. Return to Mandalay
and check-in at hotel.
Afternoon, proceed on a comprehensive sightseeing tour including
MAHAMUNI Pagoda, with its spectacular Buddha image covered with
thick layers of gold leaves, SHWE INBIN Monastery, one of the most
outstanding monasteries in the country, SHWE NAN DAW KYAUNG or
GOLDEN PALACE Monastery, a superb example of a traditional wooden
building, KUTHODAW Pagoda, known as the World Biggest Book for its
729 stone slabs of Buddhist Scriptures. Visit a traditional
hand-woven silk workshop as well as a Kalaga tapestries
craftsmen’s shop before proceeding to MANDALAY Hill, for sunset.

DAY
04 EXCURSION TO AMARAPURA - INNWA (AVA) - SAGAING
After breakfast, excursion by road to ancient capital of
AMARAPURA, 15 kilometers south of Mandalay, visit MAHAGANDAYON
Monastery; a famous Buddhist monastery, where more than a thousand
monks live and study, continue to 1.2 Km long 200 years old U BEIN
Bridge, built of huge teak logs salvaged form AVA Royal Palace.
Visit BAGAYA Monastery, with a superb collection of Buddha
statues. Then excursion to the former Royal Capital of INNWA
(AVA), tour highlights with horse cart to MAHA AUNGMYE BONZAN
Monastery, ruins of ancient AVA, WATCH Tower, fort walls and brick
causeway. Return to Sagaing.
Afternoon, drive over 1 kilometer long bridge across the
AYEYARWADDY River to SAGAING Hills, with numerous pagodas and
monasteries and a retreat for Buddhist devotees for sunset. Return
to Mandalay.

DAY
05 MANDALAY – HEHO (BY FLIGHT) - INLE LAKE
After breakfast, transfer to airport for domestic flight to HEHO.
Arrive Heho and proceed by road to INLE LAKE (25 km - 1 hour). An
excursion by boat on the lake will include sights of PHAUNG DAW OO
Pagoda, wonderful floating garden / vegetation, FLOATING Islands,
FLOATING Market, natives method of fishing and village life on the
lake.
Overnight at Hotel in Nyaung Shwe.
DAY 06 INLE LAKE - PINDAYA - KALAW
After breakfast, visit a market place and continue for an
excursion by road (90 km - 2 1/2 hrs) to the small town of
PINDAYA, where sight-seeing highlights include the scenic lake and
PINDAYA CAVES, unique for the thousands of Buddha images placed
there by pilgrims over many centuries. Continue to the Hill
station of KALAW, arrive and transfer to Hotel.
Evening at leisure to relax and to explore Kalaw, a charming hill
station.
Overnight at Hotel in Kalaw.
DAY 07 HEHO – YANGON (BY
FLIGHT)
Early transfer to Heho Airport for domestic flight back to YANGON.
Arrive Yangon and transfer to the Hotel.
Afternoon visit to SHWEDAGON Pagoda, world famous golden stupa;
CHAUKHTATGYI, a huge reclining Buddha Image and the gilded SULE
Pagoda, dating back over 2,200 years. Continue to BOTATAUNG Pagoda
beside the river and visit Yangon’s Oldest CHINESE Temple and walk
around CHINA Town.
Overnight at Hotel in Yangon.
DAY 08 DEPARTURE
Morning sight-seeing to KARAWEIK Hall, a Royal Barge on the Royal
Lake, BOGYOKE AUNG SAN (SCOTT’S) Market with time to browse among
the hundreds of stall for souvenir bargains.
Early evening transfer to Yangon International Airport for
Departure Flight. |
