Day 01: Yangon - Kyaing Tong (by flight)
Pickup at hotel in Yangon and transfer to airport for flight by Air Mandalay to KYAING TONG (Keng Tong). On arrival, transfer to hotel.

After lunch at a simple local restaurant, sight-seeing in Kyaing Tong includes Maha Myatmuni Pagoda, Sunn Taung Monastery, One Tree Pagoda and scenic Naung Tong Lake.

Day 02: Kyaing Tong
After breakfast, explore the colourful Kyaing Tong market which draws hill-tribe folk from surrounding regions. Continue by road to the northern mountains to visit Arn hill tribes, best known for their black teeth and primitive way of life; visit Naing Ngan Aye Pagoda on the way.
After picnic lunch, drive (33 km – 1 hour) to Loi-mwe, once an outpost of the British. A number of colonial era buildings can be seen as well as a century-old Catholic church. Return to Kyaing tong, passing through picturesque forests and terraced paddy fields.

Day 03: Kyaing Tong
After breakfast, fullday excursion to surrounding hill tribe villages. Visit an animist Palaung village where several families live under one roof in ‘long houses’, Akha tribes, famous for their spectacular head dresses made of silver coins and colourful tussles, Lahu ethnic minorities whose origins date back to the Tibeto-Burman era, and Khuns known for their beautifully embroidered silk longyis and colourful turbans. Picnic lunch en route.

Day 04: Kyaing Tong - Heho (by flight)
After breakfast, at leisure until departure.
Transfer to Kyaing Tong airport for flight by Air Mandalay to Heho.
