DAY 01 ARRIVAL
Arrive at Yangon Airport, after clearing customs and immigration formalities welcome by our guide and transfer to the Hotel for check-in.

Afternoon, sightseeing tour in Yangon includes, visit to CHAUKHTATGYI, a huge reclining Buddha Image; KARAWEIK Hall, a ‘hamsa-bird-shaped’ floating barge on Kandawgyi (Royal Lake); an extended visit to one of the world’s most spectacular monuments, the SHWEDAGON Pagoda.

The tour continues to Visit SULE Pagoda, dating back over 2,500 years ago; continue to BOTAHTAUNG Pagoda beside the river and visit Yangon's oldest Chinese Tao Temple.

DAY 02 EXCURSION TO BAGO
After breakfast, full day excursion out of Yangon to BAGO (80 km - 11/2 hours). En route, visit and Allied War Graves cemetery near HTAUK KYANT, a handicraft village producing woven bamboo wares, a tree shrine dedicated to legendary “Nat” and KYAIK PUN PAGODA, famous for its four giant Buddhas. In Bago sightseeing includes the SHWEMAWDAW Pagoda, over a thousand years old. The 55 meter long reclining SHWE THALYAUNG Buddha image is among the country’s most revered.

Return to Yangon through rural landscape of rice fields and small villages.

DAY 03 YANGON – BAGAN (BY FLIGHT)
After Breakfast, transfer to Yangon Airport for domestic flight to BAGAN. Arrive and transfer to Hotel for check-in. After a stroll through the colorful local market continue the day with visits to the most significant pagodas and temples of Bagan including SHWEZIGON Pagoda, built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century as a religious shrine; KU BYAUK GYI, a temple with superb murals of Jataka scenes; KHAY MIN GA Temple, noted for its panoramic view of the area’s numerous monuments and ANANDA Temple, with four standing Buddha images.

Afternoon, visit one of Myanmar’s most treasured handicrafts, a lacquerware craftsmen’s workshop in nearby MYINKABA village. You will continue to MANUHA Temple, built in the Mon-style in 1059 and follow on to NANBAYA Temple, a unique sandstone monument said to have been the palace of King Manuha. Next you will explore the MYINGABA GU BYAUKGYI Temple, a temple noteworthy for its mural paintings under the protection of UNESCO. Proceed to BUPAYA Pagoda or MINGALAZEDI Stupa to watch the sunset over the famous Ayeyarwaddy River.

DAY 04 BAGAN
After breakfast, visit the site of TAYOKEPYAY Temple in Min Nan Thu Village, PAYA THONE ZU and NANDAMANYA Temple noted for exquisite murals of 13th century and KYAT KAN CAVE Monastery, a famous meditation center in Bagan. Visit farming villages around Bagan.

Afternoon, an excursion to the nostalgic NAT HTAUNG KYAUNG, a wooden monastery built in 1781 by a group of monks, famous for woodcarvings, a collection of ancient Buddha statues and lacquer boxes.

DAY 05 BAGAN - MT. POPA – MANDALAY (BY CAR)
After early breakfast, a 45 km drive (1 1/2 hrs) will take you to MOUNT POPA, an extinct volcano with spectacular views. It’s shrine is dedicated to animist spirits, known as “Nat”. For the energetic, time to climb the 777 steps to the shrine the top of the park and then the journey continue 255 km by road (6 hrs) to MANDALAY, through varied agricultural landscapes and small villages.

Arrive Mandalay in the evening and transfer to Hotel for check-in.

DAY 06 EXCURSION TO AMARAPURA - INNWA - SAGAING

After breakfast, excursion by road to ancient capital of AMARAPURA, 15 kilometers south of Mandalay, visit MAHAGANDAYON Monastery; a famous Buddhist monastery, where more than a thousand monks live and study, continue to 1.2 Km long 200 years old U BEIN Bridge, built of huge teak logs salvaged form AVA Royal Palace. Visit BAGAYA Monastery, with a superb collection of Buddha statues. Then excursion to the former Royal Capital of INNWA (AVA), tour highlights with horse cart to MAHA AUNGMYE BONZAN Monastery, ruins of ancient AVA, WATCH Tower, fort walls and brick causeway. Return to Sagaing.

Afternoon, drive over 1 kilometer long bridge across the AYEYARWADDY River to SAGAING Hills, with numerous pagodas and monasteries and a retreat for Buddhist devotees for sunset. Return to Mandalay.

DAY 07 MANDALAY
After breakfast, proceed on a comprehensive sightseeing tour including MAHAMUNI Pagoda, with its spectacular Buddha image covered with thick layers of gold leaves, SHWE INBIN, one of the most outstanding monasteries in the country, SHWE NAN DAW KYAUNG or GOLDEN PALACE Monastery, a superb example of a traditional wooden building, KUTHODAW Pagoda, known as the World Biggest Book for its 729 stone slabs of Buddhist Scriptures.

A visit is also made to a jetty to observe daily life at the river and to a craftsmen’s workshop to see Kalaga tapestries being created. Then visit to MANDALAY Hill, advantage-point for panoramic view of the city.

DAY 08 MANDALAY – HEHO (BY FLIGHT) - PINDAYA
After breakfast, transfer to airport for domestic flight to HEHO. Upon arrival, proceed by road to PINDAYA (65 km - 1 1/2 hours).

Afternoon visit PINDAYA Caves, unique for the thousands of Buddha images placed there by pilgrims over many centuries.

DAY 09 PINDAYA - NYAUNG SHWE - INLE

After Breakfast, proceed by road to NYAUNG SHWE ( 90 km / 2 ½ hours ). An excursion by boat on Inle Lake (about 4 hrs), to see the Intha-fishermen rowing with their legs, Pagoda on artificial islands in the lake, floating gardens and floating market (on market’s day only), continue to PHAUNG DAW OO Pagoda, one of the main principle shrines in Myanmar and dating back to the 18th century; the NGA PHE KYAUNG Monastery, famous for its jumping cats trained by monks and the weaving village of INPAWKHON.

DAY 10 INLE LAKE
After an early breakfast, boat journey to the western shore of Inle Lake to visit the INN THEIN Pagoda complex, found after following a stair path lined up with magnificent columns. Explore the colourful market (on market day only) in Inn Thein.

Continue on foot (about 2 hours) or by ox-drawn carriage (if available) to the U Daung Mountain range to visit the mountain monastery.

DAY 11 NYAUNG SHWE - HEHO – YANGON (BY EVENING FLIGHT)
After breakfast, excursion by boat to the Western Shore of Inle Lake to visit the
After Lunch, transfer to Heho airport for domestic flight to YANGON. Arrive in Yangon and transfer to Hotel.

Overnight at Hotel in Yangon.


DAY 12 DEPARTURE
Morning visit to BOGYOKE AUNG SAN (Scott) Market, with time to browse among the hundreds of stalls for souvenir bargains.

Transfer to Yangon International Airport for Departure Flight.
