DAY 01 ARRIVAL
Arrive at Yangon Airport, after clearing customs and immigration
formalities welcome by our guide and transfer to hotel.
Overnight at Hotel in Yangon.
DAY
02 YANGON – BAGAN (BY FLIGHT)
After Breakfast, transfer to Yangon Airport for domestic flight to
BAGAN. Arrive and transfer to Hotel for check-in. After a stroll
through the colorful local market continue the day with visits to
the most significant pagodas and temples of Bagan including
SHWEZIGON Pagoda, built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th
century as a religious shrine; KU BYAUK GYI, a temple with superb
murals of Jataka scenes; KHAY MIN GA Temple, noted for its
panoramic view of the area’s numerous monuments and ANANDA Temple,
with four standing Buddha images.
Afternoon, visit one of Myanmar’s most treasured handicrafts, a
lacquerware craftsmen’s workshop in nearby MYINKABA village. You
will continue to MANUHA Temple, built in the Mon-style in 1059 and
follow on to NANBAYA Temple, a unique sandstone monument said to
have been the palace of King Manuha. Next you will explore the
MYINGABA GU BYAUKGYI Temple, a temple noteworthy for its mural
paintings under the protection of UNESCO. Proceed to BUPAYA Pagoda
or MINGALAZEDI Stupa to watch the sunset over the famous
Ayeyarwaddy River.

DAY
03 BAGAN – MANDALAY (BY FLIGHT)
Morning transfer to Airport for domestic flight to MANDALAY. Upon
arrival at Mandalay Airport, transfer directly to Amarapura, 15 km
from Mandalay. Visit MAHAGANDAYON, famous Buddhist monastery,
where more than a thousand monks live and study; continue to
200-years-old U BEIN teak bridge, built in 1782 at the time when
Amarapura was the royal capital. Visit BAGAYA Monastery, with a
superb collection of Buddha statues, before returning to Mandalay,
stopping at a traditional hand-woven silk workshop en route.
Afternoon, proceed on a comprehensive sightseeing tour including
MAHAMUNI Pagoda, with its spectacular Buddha image covered with
thick layers of gold leaves, SHWE INBIN Monastery, one of the most
outstanding monasteries in the country, SHWE NAN DAW KYAUNG or
GOLDEN PALACE Monastery, a superb example of a traditional wooden
building, KUTHODAW Pagoda, known as the World Biggest Book for its
729 stone slabs of Buddhist Scriptures. Visit a traditional
hand-woven silk workshop as well as a Kalaga tapestries
craftsmen’s shop before proceeding to MANDALAY Hill, for sunset.

DAY 04 MANDALAY – YANGON (BY FLIGHT)
Morning transfer to airport for domestic flight back to YANGON.
Arrival and transfer to hotel.
Evening sightseeing includes visit to CHAUKHTATGYI, a huge
reclining Buddha Image; KARAWEIK Hall, a ‘hamsa-bird-shaped’
floating barge on Kandawgyi (Royal Lake); complete your tour in
Yangon with an extended visit to one of the world’s most
spectacular monuments, the SHWEDAGON Pagoda.

DAY 05 DEPARTURE
After breakfast, a morning tour through Yangon’s colonial-style
city center. Visit SULE Pagoda, dating back over 2,500 years ago;
continue to BOTAHTAUNG Pagoda beside the river and visit Yangon's
oldest CHINESE Temple and proceed to BOGYOKE AUNG SAN (Scott)
Market, with time to browse among the hundreds of stalls for
souvenir bargains.
Early evening transfer to Yangon Airport for departure flight. |
